Day 2: The three pillars of a global solution
More than one policy instrument is needed to tackle the climate challenge. There is need for at least three types of measures  – constituting the three pillars of a global solution. The pillars are: 1) Introducing a price on greenhouse gas emissions, 2) laws, standards and regulations, and 3) governmental support for technological research, development and demonstration (RD&D). Representatives of different parts of the world will present their perspectives, followed by an assessment of what could constitute common elements of a global solution (a post-Kyoto architecture).
